Begin with the underwater wonders of Bunaken and the wildlife of Tangkoko, then fly into history: the Moluccas, the only source of cloves and nutmeg that lured European fleets and rewrote world trade. Climb the slopes of Gamalama on Ternate, cross by boat to rival sultanate Tidore, and explore the vast, wild island of Halmahera — endemic birds, WWII relics, volcano rims and bays with barely a footprint.

Sunrise on the slopes of Gamalama volcano (1,715 m), lava-flow viewpoints, clove plantations and the lava tunnel of Toluko.
Boat across to Tidore: Kie Matubu volcano views, the sultan's palace, clove-drying yards and Fort Tahula. Sunset back on Ternate.
Fast boat to Halmahera, Indonesia's largest outlying island. Drive north through plantations to Kao Bay with WWII wrecks and viewpoints.
Beaches and bays around Tobelo: swimming, snorkeling and fishing villages where life moves at its own rhythm.
Early birding walk in lowland forest near Foli — Moluccan cockatoos, lories and kingfishers — then waterfalls and a swim in a jungle river.
Visit the volcanic lakes of Galela, clove and nutmeg gardens, and traditional villages. Farewell seafood dinner on the bay.
Boat back to Ternate and afternoon flight to Manado. Farewell dinner with the team.
